Story :

But Vaishnavi shares a very strong bond with her rich and powerful father Raghupathi Naidu ( Prakash Raj) and family which also comprises of Raghupathi Naidu’s sister (Jayasudha). Will Raghupathi Naidu accept Gautham and his love? That is the rest of the story.

Plus Points :

Nara Rohit puts up a very impressive show. His histrionics are good and he gives a mature and balanced performance. His dance in the first song is pretty good. Nara Rohit is one solid actor to watch out for in future and let us hope he comes up with more movies soon. His voice and diction will win him many admirers.

Nisha Aggarwal is ok as the heroine. She shows promise, but she is still very raw in emotional scenes. A few more movies under the belt and she will come through as a good actress.

Prakash Raj delivers a text book perfect performance as Raghupathi Naidu. These roles have become a cakewalk for him and it is such a joy to watch him on screen. Jayasudha is good in the brief role that she has. Shayaji Shinde is good as the Father in Law from London. Pavitra Lokesh is good as Prakash Raj’s wife.

Srinivas Reddy is top notch in the role of the hero’s friend. He has generated a good comedy track along with M.S.Narayana (Dr. Dharma) and Ali ( Marriage Broker James Cameron). Rao Ramesh and Ranganath make brief appearances.

Emotional scenes have come out well and will connect with the audience. The dialogues are a major asset here (More on that later). Songs have been picturized well. Mumaith Khan sizzles in the item number

Presentation

The director has come up with a thoughtful storyline and while the presentation was good, the narrative was superb. The dialogues were very good. The script was predictable but the screenplay was impressive. Background score was strong and two songs were impressive. Cinematography was appealing. Editing was a bit jerky, during the second half. Costumes were natural and apt while the art department was rich. Nara Rohit has given a sincere performance but he needs to work on his expressions and body language. Nisha Agarwal is sensuous and does her bit well but she has to work on perfection in emotional scenes. Prakash Raj was powerful. Sayaji Shinde was standard. Srinivas Reddy was excellent, he should be seen more. Jayasudha was natural. Ravu Ramesh was not used to his potential. M S Narayana was moderate. Ali brought few smiles. The others did their bit as required.

Analysis:

Solo film has a simple story. Director Parashuram penned down a solid screenplay to narrate this simple point like his guru Puri Jagannadh. The film’s flow until interval point is smooth. The takeoff is good in the second half too. But the film’s color changes all of a sudden.

Until interval it is an entertaining story with ample fun. When the hero’s character takes a U turn, the mood of the film too has changed big time. Although it is understandable, few may not like the sudden shift. Director should have tried to include some funny characters in the marriage atmosphere without changing the mood of the hero. So that it would have pleased the audiences that look for comedy throughout the film.

On a whole, the mood of the film is alright. This story has to be dealt this way. There is nothing wrong in the approach of the director. Instead of being vocal all the time, he should have tried to show the pain of the protagonist visually. Saying so, we should admit that the dialogues are pretty good.

Solo is being promoted as an entertaining love story. But it is actually an emotional love story blended with some amount of comedy. The makers of the film should immediately focus on the publicity and packaging!

Verdict: Nice emotional treat, watch it!!
